Met Gala 2012 Review

The night of nights has arrived; The Oscars of the East Coast, or the Met Gala was held last yesterday as celebrities debut their beautifully impressive looks. Designer's wore their own pieces, some celebs stunned while others completely failed. The Met Ball, held by Vogue, is considered to be the industry’s most exclusive event.

Belle's Ralph Lauren silver lined dress was my absolute favorite look. She always stuns, but the sheer v-cut neckline, simple accessories, and dark features gave her an old Hollywood, simply elegant style.

Diaz rocked a gorgeous Stella McCartney frock down the red carpet. The tight, long sleeve champagne dress looked amazing against tan, blonde & fit Cameron. She accessorized with minimalistic accessories and let the dress do it's thing.

Ashley Greene's interestingly modern style took a night off while she wore a white Donna Karan dress. The delicate train and light draping made this classic look a winner.

Personally, i'd prefer Chase Crawford in nothing at all, but he looked amazing in this Kenneth Cole tux. Sure, bow ties, pastel blazers, and plaid ties are edgy pieces to men's wear this spring, abut his look is laid back and put together.

Scarlett Johanson is a classic beauty, but she surprised the guests in an incredible, detailed Dolce & Gabbanna gown. The bodice was jeweled and fitted to perfection against her famous curves, while the bottom consisted of light rose tulle.

Tim Tebow looked fantastic in his Ralph Lauren suit, trading in his John 3:16 marked eye black for a charcoal bow tie.

Diane Von Furstenburg wore this gaudy, canary yellow, shapeless frock decorated with black and gold puzzle pieces. As if it couldn't get any more cheesy, black gloves? Seriously?

Monae tried to rock this jeweled jumpsuit.. and failed. I think jumpsuits are gorgeous if they are worn the right way, but this unnamed number's flared thighs and awkward brooch make it a "good effort" type of ensemble.

Milla Javovich, usually a best dressed, chose this Prada nightmare. The top is pretty and could work, but they botched the bottom with a tacky, matchy-matchy floral deco and a fringed end.

Rihanna is too pretty for this Tom Ford meltdown. It's a close shape to Diaz's above, but the dark colored, shiny fabric looks more like she's draped in chains..which might've been what drew her to this piece in the first place.

Rosario Dawson has been making quite a few sad, style decisions lately. First, wearing a cleavage spotlighted dress to the white house, and now this Calvin Klein leather let down? Not a good week for you Ro, not a good week.
